After joining P.I.L.L.S., many doors of opportunity opened up to me and I was able to learn about the numerous pathways in pharmacy! I hope to help you all gain this type of exposure as well! In my free time I love to read, gym, and try new foods! If you have any questions (or any good food recs) you can reach out to me via email, Instagram, etc. Email: [email protected] |

Ever since I was little, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in healthcare. I joined Future P.I.L.L.S. last year hoping to learn more about the field and see if pharmacy was the right path for me. This organization taught me just how important pharmacy is in the medical field and how diverse the industry can be. Ambassador - Matthew Chan
Greetings everyone! My name is Matthew Chan, and I'm a 3rd-year Microbiology major. I am honored to be your Ambassador for the 2023-2024 academic year, and I am delighted to meet you all as part of our pharmacy adventure!
My pursuit of pharmacy began when I was an elementary school student living abroad for two years with my parents. At that time, I fell ill with the worst flu experience that I've encountered until the moment I saw my local pharmacist dispensing my medications. Not only do the medications improve my health but also spark my curiosity to understand how medications work together with our bodies to improve our everyday health. As I continued being fascinated with different types of medication and their process, I began to wonder if there are undiscovered potentials from the unknown world with ways to develop new medications for strengthening our public health in response to ongoing health issues. Upon joining Future P.I.L.L.S., my aspects in pharmacy greatly expanded with incredible insights from diversified specialties of the pharmacy world and using opportunities to interact with pharmacy faculties and new friends with similar interests. Thus, Future P.I.L.L.S. made me determined to pursue my future pharmacy career as an industrial pharmacist to explore and develop new effective medications to strengthen the well-being of those with incurable diseases and mental illnesses. Outside of pharmacy, I enjoy watching animes (Neon Genesis Evangelion, Kuroko's Basketball, etc.) & documentaries, playing video games (Genshin Impact, Persona, Undertale, etc.), learning new curious/fun facts, listening to music (City Pop, Classical, Electro Swing, & Pop), and collecting Nendoroid figures. If you have any questions or just want to chat about anything, please don't hesitate to reach out to me! Email: [email protected] |
